For when there are changes to our membership, project board or partner networks.

Updates

Our team voted to decommission our old website. So as of today, it is no longer reachable on our web server.

We also have been working to add server stats to our website and that seems to have went well and is live as of this post.

Also, various policies were updated to reflect us partnering with FurrIX. Give things a quick read over when you have time, project members. The biggest change is probably that we are going to no longer be offering in house VM hosting, as we just don’t have the resources to continue with that service offering. None of our other services are affected.

Partnership with FurrIX…

Marbled Fennec Networks has partnered with Furrix to continue bringing our project members and end users a network they can experiment on and learn from. For most project members and end users, nothing will change for you and the network will keep functioning as usual.

As of Aug 12th, 2024:

  • Marbled Fennec Networks will be the point of contact and will continue to operate as we always have. Connection activation, member and user support, network usage accounting, account servicing and finances will continue to be handled by the core group and face of the project. This team will most likely be comprised of two to four project members who carry the public facing brunt of the project.
  • FurrIX, the operating subgroup for furrix.zone will be in control of the upkeep and maintenance for all of our routers, core services and provisioning. This team will most likely be comprised of three to four project members who’s responsibility is just to ensure that we can route data from A to B without problems.

Things to make note of:

  • Marbled Fennec Networks is the point of contact for all account and support related inquiries. FurrIX does not have access to either our accounting or support systems.

Updates partially done + team changes…

Our team managed to get three server and two routers updated today, so some of the work log has been cleared. Still have three routers to update and a handful of VPS instances.

Side note, due to issues outside of MFN’s control, our project manager has left the project. Starting tomorrow, the PM position will be open for members and VTs to apply for, if they wish to take a go at running the project. If interested, get in contact with Skylar.
